Creating a Windows Server Virtual Machine in Virtual Data Center
A Windows Virtual Machine is a Windows Server operating system running within a virtualized environment. Cloudmatika’s Virtual Data Center (VDC) provides both Windows and Linux virtual machines to simplify and enhance the management of your business infrastructure.

Prerequisites
Before creating a Windows Virtual Machine, ensure that:
- You have an active Cloudmatika account.
- You have subscribed to the Virtual Data Center (VDC) service.
Creating a Windows Virtual Machine
Follow the steps below to create a Windows Virtual Machine in Cloud VDC:
- Visit the Cloudmatika website at https://cloudmatika.co.id.
- Click Login in the top-right corner of the page.
- Enter your username and password.
- After logging in, ensure that your active subscription is set to CloudServer VDC.
- Click the Cloud menu and then select New Server.
Configuring Your Virtual Machine
On the New Server page, you can define the hardware specifications and operating system settings for your Windows Virtual Machine.
Configuration Parameters
Parameter | Description |
Server Name | The name assigned to the server. The server name must be unique and cannot duplicate an existing server name. It may contain letters, numbers, and hyphens, with a maximum length of 63 characters. |
Description | A description of the server. |
Backup Schedule | The schedule used for automatic server backups. |
Specify Custom Hostname | Allows you to define a custom hostname. You may use a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), such as server1.cloudmatika.com, or simply a hostname such as server1. If left blank, the Server Name will be used as the hostname. |
Preset Configurations | Predefined server configurations based on common use cases, including CPU cores, CPU frequency, disk space, and other resources. |
CPU Cores | The number of CPU cores allocated to the server. |
CPU Frequency | The processing power allocated to the server. |
Disk Space | The amount of storage space allocated to the server, measured in gigabytes (GB). |
RAM | The amount of memory allocated to the server. |
I Will Manage the OS Kernel | Select this option to create a Virtual Machine. Leave it unchecked to create a container. |
Operating System | The operating system to be installed on the server. |
Register in Domain | The domain where the server will be registered. This option is available if you have configured DNS services. |
Bandwidth | The maximum bandwidth allocation in Mbps. |
Number of IPv4 Addresses | The number of public IPv4 addresses assigned to the server. |
Allow to Configure the Network Settings from Within the Server | Allows you to configure network settings from inside the server, except for IP addresses. If not selected, network settings will be configured automatically by the Cloud Infrastructure platform. |
Estimated Monthly Price | The estimated monthly cost based on the selected configuration. |
Hostname Notes
- To make the server accessible from external networks, you must select a domain in the Register in Domain field.
- If no domain is selected, only servers within the same subnet can access the server using its hostname.
- Hostnames may contain letters, numbers, hyphens, and periods, with a maximum length of 63 characters.
- If no hostname is specified, the Server Name will be used automatically.
Network Notes
All servers are automatically assigned a private IPv4 address with speeds of up to 10 Gbps.
Servers can communicate with one another using these private IP addresses. However, if a public IP address is not assigned, the server will not be accessible from the Internet.
Currently, manual network configuration is supported for:
- Linux Virtual Machines and Containers
- Windows Virtual Machines
Pricing Notes
The displayed monthly price is an estimate based on the selected configuration.
Please note that the displayed price does not include discounts or dynamic resource usage generated through Business Automation features such as automatic scaling (Scale Up / Scale Down). Therefore, the final billed amount may differ from the estimated price.
Selecting an Operating System
After configuring your server specifications, click Next to proceed to the operating system selection page.
The following Windows operating systems are available:
- Win2012r2-std-cloudvps
- Win2012r2-std-cloudvps-fx
- Win2008r2-std
- Win2016-std
- Win2012-std
- Win2008r2-std-cloudvps
- Win2012r2-std
For example, you may choose Win2008r2-std and select English as the system language.
Deploying the Virtual Machine
After selecting the operating system, click Next.
Wait until the virtual machine creation process is completed and the server status changes to Running.
Accessing Your Windows Virtual Machine
Once the deployment process has finished, you will receive an email containing the following information:
- IP Address
- Username
- Password
You can use these credentials to connect to your Windows Virtual Machine through Remote Desktop Connection (RDP).
