Cloudmatika Targets the SME Market in Indonesia

Jakarta – PT Awan Solusi Informatika has officially launched Cloudmatika, a state-of-the-art and secure cloud computing service for customers in Indonesia.

With today’s launch, Cloudmatika is introducing its first products, which are core services needed by every company, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The cloud computing services provided by Cloudmatika are the result of a technological partnership with Japan’s Tsukaeru Group.

Cloudmatika’s philosophy is to bring together the best cloud computing solutions from around the world while fully managing and storing data in Indonesia, for the Indonesian market.

The CEO of PT Awan Solusi Informatika and Chairman of Iska Group, Iskandar Zulkarnain, expressed great excitement about launching Cloudmatika to enter the Indonesian market.

“After experiencing the benefits of implementing cloud computing within our corporate group, the next step is to transform it into a public service,” said Iskandar in Jakarta on Tuesday (11/24).

Cloudmatika is also the first cloud service provider in Indonesia to offer infrastructure that is fully flexible, elastic, and automated.

Customers only need to pay based on their usage rather than paying high fixed monthly fees. This is thanks to its cloud infrastructure service, also known as IaaS or VPS (Virtual Private Server).

Cloudmatika is the first IaaS provider in Indonesia to offer a 100 percent SLA, as well as providing four (4) copies of every customer’s data across multiple local data centers.

Customers can access and try Cloudmatika’s infrastructure services for 14 days free of charge before deciding to purchase the service. This Cloudmatika infrastructure service is launched under the brand “CloudServer Indonesia,” accessible via the website www.cloudserver.co.id.

In addition to infrastructure services, Cloudmatika offers Cloudmatika Backup as a simple and affordable all-in-one solution to help customers store their data on local storage devices such as PCs and servers.

Customers can securely store their data, protecting it from human error and disasters such as fires, floods, or natural disasters, at a very affordable monthly cost.

All data stored on Cloudmatika is secured using “military-grade” encryption after it is sent by the customer, and Cloudmatika ensures that no one, not even Cloudmatika itself, can access that data.

Only the customer themselves, using their private key, can access the backed-up data. Cloudmatika Backup utilizes backup software from the world-leading company, Acronis.

One of the key technologies that companies need most today is Collaboration—via email, calendars, file sharing, and conferences (video). Cloudmatika can meet these needs with CCS – the Cloudmatika Collaboration Suite.

CCS provides all the collaboration tools a company needs and is accessible via all the latest mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. CCS adopts OpenXchange collaboration technology from Germany, which currently has over 100 million users worldwide.

Data Storage

To protect customers from unauthorized access to their data—for example, by foreign hackers, competitors, or agencies from other countries—he continued, Cloudmatika provides exclusive data storage services in Indonesia, within the most secure Tier 3 data centers.

By using foreign cloud computing providers, customers risk legal violations. Under Indonesia’s Data Protection Law, transferring the personal data of any Indonesian citizen abroad without their consent is illegal.

For example, if a company uses a foreign email or cloud computing provider that stores data overseas, and they receive an email from an Indonesian customer containing the sender’s name or other personal data, they have violated the law.

Under Law No. 11/2008 and Government Regulation No. 82/2012, data protection provisions state that any public cloud service offered in Indonesia must be stored within Indonesia.

Furthermore, it is prohibited to transfer Indonesian citizens’ data abroad without their consent, and it is prohibited to share Indonesian citizens’ data with third parties without their consent.

Using foreign providers to store the personal data of Indonesian citizens can constitute a serious violation of several laws and regulations. “By using Cloudmatika, Indonesian consumers can rest assured that they are not at risk of breaking the law and are free from the risk of legal action from anyone,” he emphasized.

In addition to the legal aspects, companies using Cloudmatika also enjoy distinct commercial advantages because they can ensure their customers’ data is stored and handled securely and legally.
