Supporting Indonesian Tourism, Cloudmatika Participated in the Workshop of Digital Tourism for Supporting Sustainable Tourism in Belitung

Hi Cloud Users! On Friday, July 26, 2019, MCSTO IPB KAK Tanjung Kelayang and the Department of Biology at IPB University successfully organized the Workshop of Digital Tourism for Supporting Sustainable Tourism in Belitung, held at the Grand Hatika Hotel, Belitung. This workshop was aimed at tourism stakeholders throughout the Bangka Belitung province. The event was attended by the Acting Regional Secretary (PLH Sekda) who also serves as the Assistant II for Economy and Development, Drs. Jasagung Haryadi, M.Si.; the Head of the Belitung Regency Tourism Office, Ir. Hermanto; and the Director of Cooperation and Alumni Relations at IPB University, Dr. Heti Mulyati.

Held over two days, the event discussed and explored the potential of nature, culture, flora, and fauna that can be leveraged for tourism on Belitung Island. Furthermore, the workshop focused on how to build sustainable tourism without compromising the natural environment and local culture of Belitung.

Cloudmatika actively participated as a speaker on the first day of the workshop, presenting the theme “Enhancing Tourist Experience Through Digital Tourism.” During this session, the CEO of Cloudmatika shared an analysis of Belitung Island’s presence and visibility across search engines and social media platforms.

This was followed by a presentation on the costs required to build a website and how to optimize it for search engines using SEO methods, allowing websites to rank at the top of internet search results. This material was presented by Lukman Nur Hakim, Cloudmatika’s Cloud Engineer Team Leader.

Cloudmatika’s sessions were highly well-received. This was evident from the participants’ enthusiasm during the Q&A session. Many workshop attendees shared that while they already owned websites, they had been unsure how to optimize them to generate revenue for their businesses and effectively compete with operators from other regions.

The land of the Laskar Pelangi (Rainbow Troops) holds vast potential for development. Consequently, local stakeholders still require significant support from various parties. Cloudmatika hopes that following this event, digital technology will better enable tourism business owners to boost tourist arrivals and stimulate economic growth across the region.
