Cloudmatika Launches BaaS in Indonesia with Acronis Backup Cloud Support
Jakarta, November 25, 2015 — Acronis®, a global leader in next-generation data protection, today announced the availability of Acronis Backup Cloud in Indonesia through a new partnership with Cloudmatika, a Japanese-backed cloud service provider for SMBs, enterprises, and government organizations.
The service is delivered from two geographically separate data centers in Central Jakarta to ensure maximum availability and security for all customer data stored within the Cloudmatika network. Acronis Backup Cloud customers connect directly to the data centers, and no data is transferred outside the country. The company’s philosophy is to deliver the best cloud computing solutions from around the world and to fully manage and host them in Indonesia for the Indonesian market.
“Following the successful implementation of Acronis Backup Cloud in Japan, our group of companies has seen rapid sales growth and an increase in customer satisfaction. It became clear to us that we needed to build on that success by launching Acronis cloud services in Indonesia as well. “Although our primary target customers are SMEs, we have already received significant interest and requests from corporate and government clients during the pre-launch phase of this service. There is high demand for our services, and we are thrilled to offer Backup-as-a-Service through our partnership with Acronis,” said Ted Hilbert, CEO of Cloudmatika.
According to the SME Cloud Insights research released by Odin earlier this year, the cloud services market for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 percent over the next three years, from Rp. 15 trillion (USD 1.2 billion) in 2015 to Rp. 33 trillion (USD 2.7 billion) in 2018. This growth is primarily driven by SMEs migrating their business functions to the cloud, spurred by the availability of tools and solutions provided by companies such as Cloudmatika.
Acronis is committed to supporting service providers in offering comprehensive data protection solutions, including backup, disaster recovery, and file synchronization and sharing. Acronis believes that comprehensive data protection requires not only state-of-the-art data security, but also data security to protect businesses from external threats, and data privacy to ensure they retain control of their data at all times—on the go, on mobile devices, and in the cloud. To achieve this, Acronis leverages a highly flexible and open architecture that supports easy integration with other leading third-party solutions, the latest global encryption standards—including AES256—and private, secure search capabilities.
Acronis Backup Cloud is designed to meet the needs of the wide range of workloads and data sources managed by service providers and end users today, including Windows®, Mac®, Linux, Hyper-V, VMware®, RHEV, XEN, KVM, Oracle® VM, Microsoft Exchange®, and SQL, as well as XEN®, KVM, Linux®, Virtuozzo, Docker®, Open-Xchange, and MySQL®.
“Acronis data protection solutions are designed to ensure the safety, security, and privacy of data, while making it simple for service providers and resellers to sell them as new services to boost their revenue,” said Rudy Rangkuti, Acronis Country Manager in Indonesia. “We aim to be the best in security for cloud data protection, and our partnerships with local industry leaders support this goal.”
